Fantastic February!
As the wintry winds blow up north, and Super Bowl has passed, (at this writing it is anyone’s guess who will be victorious); Baseball’s Spring Training begins February 26th right here in Sarasota, we watch the Baltimore Orioles get ready for their season. Just a short drive from here, you can watch the Yankees, Pirates, Red Sox and Phillies on their home spring training fields.
There are a myriad of shows, concerts, guest speakers, festivals and new restaurants to experience this month. Just check out our "Official Sarasota” link.
Lakewood Ranch
Once again Lakewood Ranch has been named one of the top 10 of the country’s best Master Planned Communities. Not only because of the Active Adult and master planned community choices, but because of the scope of amenities Lakewood Ranch has to offer, that goes way beyond the country clubs, pools and athletic center.
The developer and the builders have realized that “The wave of baby boomers who would be retiring are looking for someplace where they can enjoy their ACTIVE lifestyles”. The Del Webb community (where we live) – is so full of activities that it is hard to make choices! According to the retirees interviewed, “Lakewood Ranch gives us opportunities to try different activities, connect with like minded people, and build a Brand new Lifestyle!”
As you can well imagine, the demand is far exceeding the supply, so the communities that are being built now are expanding north, and south. Just like where you live, the pricing is going crazy, and so now it is becoming a bit of a challenge to get everything you want, at the price you THOUGHT you were going to pay.
That being said, we are finding things for our folks! -
There are neighborhoods in all price ranges, and we will guide you through the maze of information.

As you think about putting your home on the market,
a few hints:
You never get a second chance to make a first impression!
Become your buyer – If you weren’t moving to Paradise, would you buy your home at the price you are asking?
What do you see when you pull up to your home?
Does the first impression say: Wow- this home looks pristine?
As they walk through your home, can your buyer envision each room for his or her purpose? Is there plenty of room for their belongings? Empty every top shelf ( do this in every cabinet and shelf in the house). You have to pack any way, this will give you a head start. Whether you are dreaming of downtown or dockside, water view or your favorite fairway, our commitment is to help you discover your ultimate lifestyle.
So now you are thinking –
“How do I get the most dollars out of my home when I sell?”
Your mission is to make your home show like a model.
Declutter-Declutter-Declutter!!
The most important thing to remember is: once you decide to put your home on the market, it becomes a house and not your home – (you have to pack anyway, so why not get started early)
Look at your house though buyer’s eyes.
What do you see when you pull up to your house and park your car? Curb appeal is so important. You only get one chance to make a first impression.
Does the front of your home have an inviting and welcoming allure? Are your bushes and other plant life trimmed and tidy? Arrange a few pots of colorful plants and frame the entry way to invite your perspective buyer into their new home.
As you enter, are you greeted with a neutral fresh scent? You want to appeal to all the senses for greatest effect.
Is your paint color neutral so others can visualize their furniture in the house? As you walk from room to room is everything neat and tidy?
Are your kitchen counters clear? Empty every top shelf, every cabinet, every closet, and anyplace that has a top shelf leave empty. After all – you want to give the illusion of more than enough storage for anyone to need.
