One, Two, Three Strikes You Win!
The days are getting longer, the sun is getting stronger, and spring is in the air here in Sarasota. Spring training begins here the first week in March.
If you are a baseball lover, you will be in heaven! From Tampa, to Ft. Myers, Sarasota is midway, and you can see all of your favorite teams.
What a whirlwind the last few months have been. Despite–or because of COVID–many people are making their way down, trying to escape the cold.
Even though the shows were virtual this season, we want to say how much we have enjoyed all of you who were able to attend the Retirement Expos and stopped at our booth. We look forward to your visits, and to be able to find you wonderful places down here to spend those cold winter months that you get up north. We came down here 18+ years ago from Buffalo N.Y., so we definitely know what you are going through!
Events and restaurants are adapting to the requirements, and because of the weather many things are being held outdoors.
Many exciting things are evolving in Lakewood Ranch; “Waterside” plans to have its soft opening in May. New communities are well on their way and the farmer’s markets and cultural events are coming back!

As you think about putting your home on the market,
a few hints:
You never get a second chance to make a first impression!
Become your buyer – If you weren’t moving to Paradise, would you buy your home at the price you are asking?
What do you see when you pull up to your home?
Does the first impression say: Wow- this home looks pristine?
As they walk through your home, can your buyer envision each room for his or her purpose? Is there plenty of room for their belongings? Empty every top shelf ( do this in every cabinet and shelf in the house). You have to pack any way, this will give you a head start. Whether you are dreaming of downtown or dockside, water view or your favorite fairway, our commitment is to help you discover your ultimate lifestyle.
So now you are thinking –
“How do I get the most dollars out of my home when I sell?”
Your mission is to make your home show like a model.
Declutter-Declutter-Declutter!!
The most important thing to remember is: once you decide to put your home on the market, it becomes a house and not your home – (you have to pack anyway, so why not get started early)
Look at your house though buyer’s eyes.
What do you see when you pull up to your house and park your car? Curb appeal is so important. You only get one chance to make a first impression.
Does the front of your home have an inviting and welcoming allure? Are your bushes and other plant life trimmed and tidy? Arrange a few pots of colorful plants and frame the entry way to invite your perspective buyer into their new home.
As you enter, are you greeted with a neutral fresh scent? You want to appeal to all the senses for greatest effect.
Is your paint color neutral so others can visualize their furniture in the house? As you walk from room to room is everything neat and tidy?
Are your kitchen counters clear? Empty every top shelf, every cabinet, every closet, and anyplace that has a top shelf leave empty. After all – you want to give the illusion of more than enough storage for anyone to need.
