Fantastic February !

As the wintry winds blow up north, and Super Bowl has passed,  at this writing it is anyone’s guess who will be victorious. Baseball Spring Training begins (click here for the Baltimore Orioles Spring Training Schedule) right here in Sarasota, we watch the Baltimore Orioles get ready for their season. Just a short drive from here, you can watch the Yankees, Pirates, Red Sox and Phillies on their home spring training fields. Or, just wait for them all to come to our Stadium!

There are a myriad of shows, concerts, guest speakers, festivals and new restaurants to experience this month. Just check out our ”Official Sarasota website” or the "TicketSarasota.com website".

Work is still right on Schedule for the new University Town Center Mall (Opening Oct.16,2014). With that in mind, I focus this month on Lakewood Ranch, and the amazing growth of that area just east of I75.

Once again Lakewood Ranch has been named #9 out of the country’s best Master Planned Communities. Not only because of the Active Adult and master planned community choices, but because of the scope of amenities Lakewood Ranch has to offer, that goes way beyond the country clubs, pools and athletic center.  The developer and the builders have realized that “The wave of baby boomers who would be retiring are looking for someplace where they can enjoy their ACTIVE lifestyles” There are many types of neighborhoods within Lakewood Ranch, not just geared for the retirees.
