Hi All!

Hope everyone has been enjoying the last days of summer, and ready for fall. Despite this crazy pandemic, the kids are back in school, and here, the organizational groups are in full planning mode for all the festivals, concert series, theatre events, opera, sporting events, art shows, and all the rest of the activities that make Sarasota known not only for her beautiful beaches, but also as the "culture coast".

With the events at the Ringling Museum, the Asolo Theater, Florida Studio Theater, the Van Wezel, and all the festivals and great restaurants - there is always something fun to do and see here in Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, or Bradenton.

We have been seeing home prices increase all over the country, and even though it is not season, we are still seeing it here as well.

A mental shift has occurred, and we are seeing the average age of our buyers dropping – Especially with the opening of Waterside.

It is not too early to think about heading south, and purchasing your dream home, either to relocate permanently, or a “run-away” from the winter cold, but we do have some advice to share – Do your research- realize as the prices keep climbing, and you are able to get a great price for your home, you may not need as big a home here, but you will see the prices may be as high as what you are selling!

Spectacular Realtors! Irv & Leslie Rothschild.

I just want to pass on the unbelievable experience I had with Irv & Leslie Rothschild as our realtors. We have lived in Greenbrook for 18 years. We had a large pool home and decided to downsize.

Leslie and Irv took us to Lorraine Lakes and we purchased right away in early November. We are lucky we did as availability declined and pricing sky rocketed just a month or two later. We also used them to sell our Greenbrook home. Leslie and Irv were spectacular!

They were there to hold our hands when needed. They literally got their hands dirty preparing our home for sale. Irv showed up one day with paint brushes and took care of a bedroom that needed touching up. These are old school folks. You will be hard pressed to find a duo willing to take their services to the level Irv & Leslie did.

They also made sure our new builder was on point. They even paid for a pre drywall inspection, which worked out as a few minor issues were caught during that inspection.

Leslie took endless calls from us and always put our minds at ease. Our home sold in two days for asking price. They even coordinated the closings of both homes on the same day, just hours apart.

If you need a realtor who will get it done and are not afraid to get their hands dirty, then Irv & Leslie are the duo who will sell your home or find you your next castle. They are now our friends and part of our family.

Sometimes these days it’s hard to find folks who have old school values. A hand shake still means something to Irv & Leslie.

Become your buyer – If you weren’t moving to Paradise, would you buy your home at the price you are asking?

What do you see when you pull up to your home?

Does the first impression say: Wow- this home looks pristine?

As they walk through your home, can your buyer envision each room for his or her purpose? Is there plenty of room for their belongings? Empty every top shelf ( do this in every cabinet and shelf in the house). You have to pack any way, this will give you a head start. Your mission is to make your home show like a model.

Declutter-Declutter-Declutter!!

The most important thing to remember is: once you decide to put your home on the market, it becomes a house and not your home – (you have to pack anyway, so why not get started early)

Look at your house though buyer’s eyes.

What do you see when you pull up to your house and park your car? Curb appeal is so important. You only get one chance to make a first impression.

Does the front of your home have an inviting and welcoming allure? Are your bushes and other plant life trimmed and tidy? Arrange a few pots of colorful plants and frame the entry way to invite your perspective buyer into their new home.

As you enter, are you greeted with a neutral fresh scent? You want to appeal to all the senses for greatest effect.

Is your paint color neutral so others can visualize their furniture in the house? As you walk from room to room is everything neat and tidy?

Are your kitchen counters clear? Empty every top shelf, every cabinet, every closet, and anyplace that has a top shelf leave empty. After all – you want to give the illusion of more than enough storage for anyone to need.

Hope these few little hints help you get on the right track.
